About this app
Overview, features and application details
An augmented-reality sky guide from the makers of SkyView. Point your camera at the sky and SkyView Lite labels stars, planets, satellites, and constellations instantly.
SkyView Lite is the free AR stargazing app from Terminal Eleven, the team behind the original SkyView. Point your camera at the sky and the app labels whatever is up there — stars, constellations, planets, the ISS, even satellites drifting past.
It uses your phone\u0027s camera and motion sensors to line the sky up with your exact position, so what you see on screen matches what is above you. Night mode switches everything to red so your eyes stay dark-adapted while you are out observing.
This is the Lite version: the full SkyView app adds extra tours and deeper content, but Lite covers the essentials for casual stargazers. It has been around since 2014 and has passed 26 million installs, so the sky mapping is well tested.
A good first astronomy app if you just want to know what that bright thing is without reading a manual.
