Clash of Clans has been running for over a decade and it's still the benchmark for mobile strategy. You build a village from a lonely town hall into a fortified war machine — walls, cannons, traps, and an army of barbarians, archers, giants, and dragons. Then you take that army raiding against real players' bases for gold, elixir, and trophies. The loop of build, upgrade, attack, repeat is simple and completely absorbing.
The real depth is social. Joining a clan unlocks Clan Wars, where dozens of members coordinate attacks across two days, plus the Clan Capital — a shared base everyone builds together — and raid weekends with fat loot payouts. There's also a second village, the Builder Base, with its own versus battles. Supercell updates the game constantly: new town hall levels, hero equipment, and seasonal challenges mean even veterans always have something to grind toward.
