Cats & Soup is one of the most popular idle games out there, and it earns that with charm alone. You start with a single cat and a pot of soup in a forest clearing. The cats chop vegetables, stir the pot, serve bowls, then wander off to nap or play.
Your job is the kitchen. You build facilities — a slicing room, a soup station, juice and salad stands — and upgrade each one so the cats earn more while you're away. New cats join over time, each with a name, a personality, and a favorite resting spot. Earnings keep coming even when the app is closed.
The art is the reason it blew up: big round cats, soft pastel colors, and a lo-fi soundtrack that people stream outside the game. It feels like watching a warm cartoon that occasionally needs a tap from you.
