The Posthumous Investigation

The Posthumous Investigation is a murder mystery with a twist: you're stuck in a time loop. Set in 1930s Rio de Janeiro, the game has you reliving the same day over and over, each loop revealing a little more about who killed Brás Cubas — and why.

The name is a nod to Machado de Assis, the Brazilian literary giant whose famous narrator shares the victim's name. The 1930s setting is richly drawn, with period Rio as a backdrop for a classic whodunit wrapped in something stranger.

Each loop lets you try new conversations, visit new places, and test new theories. Information is your real progress bar: what you learn in one loop carries into the next, until the full picture clicks into place.

It's an indie from Brazil's Mother Gaia studio, and it stands out for blending a golden-age detective structure with a supernatural hook. If you like mysteries where the how matters as much as the who, this one's worth your time.
